The weekend was very successful. I have tracked the balloon fox hunt and provided a live YouTube stream.
Everything was done together with Nils von Storch, who brought his 13cm receiver for the video.

I have made contacts on 6cm with:
PA3CRX, PA3CGG, PE1ASH and PA3CWS
and tracked the balloon almost down to the ground. The image was B5 most of the time, and the livestream was very popular when the main stream of the organizers went down.

This weekend, mainly on sunday, I will be active from the TU Delft with amateur TV, tracking the balloon fox hunt and making some QSOs on 6cm ATV.

I have just finished the receiver, and friday we have also put back the 3m dish on the roof.

In two weeks, the ILLW – International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend will start again. We intend to run a video link between Noordwijk PG6N and Scheveningen PA25SCH on 5.8GHz. Today we, Nico PA1NJK, Rody PD2RVK and myself PA3WEG have placed the video equipment at the Noordwijk end which will be received in scheveningen for inclusion in the PIP (Picture In Picture) image there. Helping us in noordwijk were Jaap PA7DA and Loek PA9LUC

The wind was really strong, we really had to hold on to our stuff. Even bolts, nuts and tools will fly away!

The BATC crew

At the AMSAT-UK Colloquium I presented various projects, including FUNcube and the new exciting QB50 precursor flight opportunity. I worked with the BATC to make streaming possible, by providing a wired gateway service over WiFI to connect the streaming computer. Also, I presented on behalf of my employer – ISIS – the current work on the World Radio Conference agenda to establish a definition for nanosatellites, in order to try and get the coordination / notification / filing process changed. This way, educational and institutional satellites can move out of the radio amateur bands and file for commercial spectrum.

Resolution 757 (COM6/10) (WRC-12) Regulatory aspects for nano- and pico satellites
invites ITU-R
to examine the procedures for notifying space networks and consider possible modifications to enable the deployment and operation of nano- satellites and pico satellites, taking into account the short development time, short mission time and unique orbital characteristics,

instructs the Director of the Radiocommunication Bureau
to report to WRC-15 on the results of these studies

The long term goals of this agenda item are easier / faster access to spectrum for experimental / Proof-Of-Concept satellites with a short mission duration. and for the Amateur radio community: reduce “improper use” of the amateur satellite service by satellites that are not strictly compliant with the definition of an amateur satellite.

I have completed the battery charger to take to launch base!

When designing it I told myself I could do without microcontroller or charging IC.

I did all of the logic with NAND gates and comparators, and did not use any “smart” stuff.
